For a number of years I have been working with audiovisual documentation of actions or interventionsin public spaces, where some of the main concernshave been issues of community interaction andgender. I often use self-representation or mimeticperformance to point out, or to observe a specificenvironment. The South Project is a five-year program designed to foster cross-cultural exchange across the south. It sets out to develop a network of artists and writers and stimulate critical dialogue through a series of cross-continental and cross-cultural forums, exhibitions, residencies, workshops, performances, publications and commissions.
